About Marc-Anthony

Hello! My name is Marc-Anthony, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO, #13649).

I began my journey by completing my bachelor of fine arts in film production at York University, where I specialized as a documentary filmmaker to expose the stigmatization within the Canadian legal system. I worked alongside incredible activists, tackling racial and gender bias within the judicial system. After graduation, I began working as a crisis counsellor for numerous organizations (e.g., victim services, certified listeners), specializing in trauma-informed care.

Now, in my current role as a therapist, I’m committed to helping clients cultivate resilience by fostering self-awareness. I employ evidence-based practices encouraging self-reflection, examining how early life experiences and interpersonal relationships affect your healing process. My sessions often take a client-centred approach, creating a collaborative process of unlearning damaging self-beliefs, practicing healthy coping skills, and reclaiming your life through a therapeutic relationship that holds curiosity and compassion. Above all, I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space to express your thoughts freely.

I view trauma as a relational experience. Not only is it often caused by relations with others, but it is also the new development of healthy relationships that can assist in healing. Because of this, the therapeutic space I aim to create is highlighted in inclusivity. I incorporate anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and strength-based approaches with my commitment in growing my knowledge of intersectional oppression. My goal with each client is to create an authentic relationship built on the foundations of validation, trust and optimism.
